So much has changed due to Covid-19 but we are here to help you

Keeping you up to date

As most of you will be aware, Wales has returned to Alert Level 2 restrictions from 20th December 2021. We have reviewed the new guidance and the services we are able to provide in line with Welsh Government guidelines.

We keep this page constantly updated, so please check it regularly so you can keep up to date on our services.

  • Our Office

    Our office in Tonypandy remains closed. We are working safely from home and you can contact us by phone, email, on social media, or via our website.
    You can also speak to your Housing Officer or a member of the Payment Advice team via video chat, book in here.

  • Repairs

    We are operating a normal repairs and maintenance service with Covid safe procedures in place.
    If you have a repair inside your home please contact our Customer Service team to report it on 01443 424200 during our opening hours or you can report it on our website.

    Your health and well-being remain our priority and we want to ensure we keep everyone safe when we need to visit your home. Our contractors and staff are operating safe working practices and following Welsh Government guidance at all times. If we do need to enter your home then we will continue to keep two metres away from you during the repair to ensure social distancing.

  • Cleaning Services

    We are continuing our usual cleaning services in accordance with Welsh Government guidance. We have adapted cleaning services and focussed on touch points such as handrails, switches and door handles. Weekly inspections of the internal communal areas are carried out by our caretakers to monitor the cleanliness and identify when additional cleaning measures are needed.

  • Estate Inspections

    Our Caretakers continue to inspect and maintain our estates and communal areas to ensure they are safe and clean. All fire alarm testing continues as usual.

  • Gas and Electrical Safety

    We are continuing to complete your annual gas and electrical safety checks so we can identify any faults and to ensure your safety.  When an engineer visits your home they will wear PPE, maintain social distancing and spray the work area with disinfectant and wipe down the surfaces that they have touched. We suggest you open windows in your home during their visit to allow fresh air to circulate.

  • New Developments

    We are continuing to build new homes and all our new developments sites are open. We are constantly monitoring the situation and working in partnership with our contractors to ensure we comply with all safe operating procedures.

  • Tenancy Advice and Support

    We are advertising our homes to let, if you need to move home, please contact RCTCBC’s Homefinder at www.homefinderrct.org or contact your RHA Housing Officer on 01443 424200.

    We have reviewed our ways of letting homes to ensure we can provide this service safely and your housing officer will advise you of our procedures and support you with this process.

    We are here to help you and we are available to answer any of your tenancy queries and offer you support over the phone on 01443 424200, via email or by video chat.

  • Paying Your Rent and Financial Advice

    You can pay your rent over the phone with us on 01443 424200, by direct debit or via the Post Office. Visit here for more information.

    It is important to let us know if you are struggling to pay your rent, as there are lots of ways our Payment Advice Team can help you. We have five specialist staff available to support you over the phone or online and they will ensure you are free from worry, managing to pay your rent and receiving all the benefits you are entitled to.

  • Your Health and Wellbeing

    During 2021 our Get Involved team have been working to support those tenants who needed support with things like collecting shopping or getting medication.  If you need any help or support due to Covid-19 so we can help you or put you in touch with our partners who can help.

    We are offering a variety of projects which include help accessing online services, getting connected with others and becoming involved in improving our services at RHA.  You can also get involved in our gardening project for beginners called HomeGrown.

    We can help support you safely in person or online with our Be Active RCT partnership wellbeing project which will support you to improve your health, get connected to others and help you with both your mental and physical wellbeing through offering a wide range of activities.

It still remains very important for you to inform us if you or any member of your family has Covid-19, or symptoms or are self-isolating when a member of staff or a contractor is due to visit your home.
