RHA achieves national equality mark

We have been successful in achieving a prestigious and nationally recognised equality and diversity mark for social landlords.

The QED Award, developed by Welsh housing charity, Tai Pawb, provides a comprehensive framework for improving the equality and diversity impact of an organisation. Awarded by an independent panel, it considers strategic areas such as governance, leadership and culture as well as customer-facing service provision, including access and tenant involvement.

Colleagues, tenants and board members from across the organisation, as well as our contractors and partner organisations engaged in the twelve-month accreditation process which included staff surveys, engagement with tenants, interviews, a review of policies and procedures and the production of an action plan.

Sara Foster, Director of Resources at RHA Wales said:

“Reaching accreditation has been a significant piece of work that has involved all areas of the organisation over the last twelve months, including staff, tenants and board members. Hearing such positive feedback from the Tai Pawb panel is testament to the commitment and dedication of those involved in the project, and we are very proud to have achieved this award.”

Chief Executive of RHA Wales, Luke Takeuchi said

“I am delighted that we have been able to achieve this award and it is an important step forward in our progress. We want to be regarded as a truly great place to work where people are able to express themselves and constantly learn about how to be more inclusive both as an employer and as a landlord and to continue to develop our awareness and understanding in this area.”

Alicja Zalesinska, Chief Executive of Tai Pawb, added:

“We are thrilled to see another housing association in Wales receiving the QED award.

RHA Wales deserves hearty congratulations – from staff through to management and board members – for having demonstrated a clear commitment to improvement and evidencing innovative thinking throughout the review process.”
